Class Activity
As a class collect our recyclable rubbish (while at school) for one week. We will need to make sure all materials we collect are clean. This may require materials to be rinsed and dried.
After one week, measure and weigh the accumulated rubbish.
Calculate:
- If this is the amount of rubbish from one week, what would it equal at the end of one year? After ten years?
Share and reflect
Share what you have learned from the reading and class activity with students outside of our class. You might do this via your e-portfolio/site or through a presentation etc.
- Why is plastic harmful to the environment?
- What could people do to produce less trash?

- Other than waste plastic pollution, hows does the generation and use/ consumption of plastics impact on the environment?
